Paul M. Price, Jr.

Paul M. Price, Jr., 81 of Bloomsburg, died unexpectedly Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the Berwick Hospital Center Emergency Room. He was born April 10, 1935 in Bloomsburg, a son to the late Paul A. and Dorothy (Broadt) Price. Paul graduated in the Scott High School Class of 1953.He worked for many years at the former U. S. Radium Plant in South Centre Township before embarking on a career as a trucker, which he continued until his retirement from Yellow Freight in 1997. He was a member of the Berwick Assembly of God Church, where he served on the board and belonged to the "Joy Club." An avid baker and cook, Paul also enjoyed gardening and hunting. Golf and music were among his favorite hobbies. He loved to play harmonica with the Evansville Gang. Paul also coached baseball for the Scott Little League Baseball Team. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, Paul will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving Paul is his loving and caring wife, the former Theresa Berns. Also surviving are 3 sons: Dennis and wife, Stacy of Berwick, Steven and wife, Deborah of Millville, and Brian and wife, Susan of Huntington Mills; daughter, Sharee Hummer and husband, Scott of Shickshinny; 11 grandchildren: Chad, Jared, Chandra, Pamela, Steven, Alan, Darren, Morgan, Derek, Eric, and Tyler: 15 great-grandchildren; 3 step-children: Donald Ernst of Bloomsburg, Donna McCoy and husband, Mike of Berwick, and Dwayne Ernst and wife, Marie of Bloomsburg; step-grandson, Mitchell, and sister, June Ault of Berwick. As well as his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald and sister, Lavenia Holloway. Paul's funeral is 11:00 AM Monday at the Berwick Assembly of God, 801 E. 5th St., Berwick. Pastor Steve Potutschnig will serve as the officiant. Friends may call at the church from 9 until time of the service. Burial will follow at Elan Memorial Park.
