Norman E. Peters, 93, of Summerhill, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the Gardens at Millville with his beloved wife, Dorothea, at his side. Born in Berwick on February 24, 1932, he was a son to the late Martin E. and Alma M. (Kester) Peters.
Mr. Peters was a graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1950. Following graduation, he proudly served in the United States Air Force. On December 22, 1956, Norman married the love of his life, the former Dorothea S. Boyer, with whom he would raise his family and share 68 years of marriage. He was a longtime employee of Wise Potato Chip Company, retiring in 1994 after more than 40 years of service. He relished his work in the research and development department, and his name can be found on numerous patents filed by the company. Norman was a member of Bethany Church of Berwick and a life member of Summerhill Fire Company, where his efforts in starting and supporting the donut making endeavor earned him the nickname “Mr. Donut.” A proud supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, he served as a Scoutmaster for many years and was the recipient of the District Award of Merit. He was a skilled craftsman and talented carpenter. His family eagerly awaited his handcrafted Christmas gifts that ranged from toy trains to doll houses to furniture; gifts that will be treasured forever. Norman was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his family and friends.
