A graveside memorial service for Lester and Natalia Kelchner will be held 1 pm Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Creveling Cemetery, Almedeia. Lester was born April 8, 1922 in Lime Ridge, a son of the late Robert and Madeline Kelchner. After serving as a Sergeant in the Marine Corps during WWII, Lester worked at Eastman Kodak as a machinist until retiring. As well as spending time with family and friends, Lester enjoyed playing the trumpet, camping and sailing. He died May 9, 2006 in St. Louis, MO. Natalia was born January 1, 1924 in Mt. Morris, IL. She was the daughter of the late Grover and Natalia Hammett. Natalia was a homemaker for most all of her adult life except for three years when she worked at Eastman Kodak. Being with her family, painting, writing and camping were what Nat found most interesting and satisfying. She also died in St. Louis on September 24, 2015. They are survived by their daughter, Cheryl Wasserman, 2 grandchildren: Douglas Janette and Jessica Laux, 5 great-grandchildren: Kimberly Jensen, David Rodriguez, Alex Janette, Julia Janette and Isabella Janette, and 1 great-granddaughter, Layla Jensen. It was their wish to be interred together and that "Best Couple Ever" be engraved on their tombstone.
