Nancy J. (Kline) Lewis

Nancy Jane Lewis, 83, of Berwick, passed away peacefully at her home Sunday, April 19, 2020. Born in Berwick August 14, 1936, she was a daughter to the late Bruce E. and Helen E. (Creasy) Kline. Nancy was a graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1954. Following graduation, she worked as a secretary for PennDOT. She was also a lifeguard at the Berwick YMCA. On June 6, 1959, Nancy married the love of her life, Michael H. Lewis. She spent 20 years as a Navy wife, dedicating herself to raising her family. Nancy was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where she served in the choir and on the church council. Additionally, she was a member of the Delta Mu chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, The Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 228 Berwick, and of the Berwick Historical Society. Nancy also volunteered with the Red Cross, was active with Berwick Health and Wellness, and was a former owner of The Paperback Shack in Berwick. Nancy was an avid card player, especially bridge. She also enjoyed reading, computer games, and Mahjong. Her greatest joy, however, was her family, by whom she will be deeply missed. Surviving Nancy is her loving husband of 60 years, Michael H. Lewis. Also surviving are daughters: Elizabeth A. Nastelli of Nescopeck, Barbara J. Eyer and husband, Ronald, of Berwick, Susan R. Jacobs and husband, Steve, of TX, and Cynthia L. Groshek and husband, Mark, of Berwick, grandchildren: Jessica Condon, Megan Nastelli, Zachary Eyer, Joshua Jacobs, Jonathan Jacobs, Samantha Jacobs, Michael Groshek, and Matthew Groshek, 5 great-grandchildren, and sister: Doris Mitstifer. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by brothers: Theodore "Ted" Kline and Leon Kline and son-in-law: Steven Nastelli. Nancy's memorial service will be 11 AM Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1600 Fowler Avenue, Berwick, PA 18603.  Friends will be received from 10 AM until the time of the service.  Pastor Troy Spencer will officiate.  Memorial contributions in Nancy's name can be sent to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at the address above.
