Merlin A. Balliet

Merlin A. Balliet, 65, of Berwick, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2020 at HCR ManorCare in Sunbury. Born in Berwick on August 2, 1954, he was a son to the late Merlin Balliet, Sr. and Beverly Sweeney. Merlin attended Berwick Area schools. Later, he worked as a waterproofer and as a tree trimmer. Merlin enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and was an avid motorcyclist. He loved spending time with his family and friends, by whom he will be greatly missed. Merlin is survived by his sons: Christopher Balliet and wife, Melissa, of Berwick and Justin Balliet of Berwick, granddaughter: Callie Balliet, brothers: Merlin L. Balliet of Nescopeck, Eric Balliet of Nescopeck, and Maschell Watts of Mifflinburg, sister: Tammy Winterhalt, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Merlin was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years, the former Debra Christopher, who passed on March 30th of this year. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Sharon Balliet. At Merlin's request, his services are private.
