Malinda L. "Linda" Sherlinski, 84, of Mifflinville, died Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She had been ill for the past two years and the family is grateful to the staff at Emeritus in Bloomsburg for their excellent care. Born February 5, 1931 in Plymouth, Luzerne County, she was a daughter of the late John and Lucretia (Armstrong) Kinney. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward F. Sherlinski on August 17, 1995. A graduate of Plymouth High School, Class of 1949, she had been employed by Bell Telephone from 1949 to 1959. She later worked for Sears and Roebuck and Company for 26 years in Berwick until the store closed and then transferred to the Bloomsburg store until her retirement in 1992. A resident of Mifflinville since 1963, she was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Mifflinville. She enjoyed socializing with her close girlfriends as well her former co-workers from Sears and especially enjoyed their many lunches together. Surviving are her two sons: Mark Sherlinski and his wife, Lynn, of Orangeville; Gary Sherlinski and his family of Millville. Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Sherlinski on April 25, 1990 and by a brother, Charles Kinney, who died in infancy The family would especially like to thank the staff on the eighth floor of the Hospital for Advanced Medicine for their kindness and compassionate care given to Linda. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Orangeville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of St. John's Lutheran Church, Mifflinville, PA 18631. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, Berwick.
