Max L. Klinetob, 77, of Summerhill, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville. He was born July 28, 1940 in Berwick, a son to the late David and Eleanor (Lenhart) Klinetob. Max was a graduate of Berwick high School and Williamsport Technical School. He worked as a machinist at PPL's nuclear powered electrical generating plant in Salem Township until his retirement. He also worked part-time for Briar Creek Township. An active volunteer, Max was a life member of the Summerhill Volunteer Fire Company, where he served as their chief from 1980-1992. Also, he was an EMT with the Berwick Area Ambulance Association. A member of the Summerhill Evangelical United Methodist Church, he served as a trustee, Sunday School Superintendent, and Youth Leader, and was Scoutmaster of Troop 18, which the church sponsored. Max also belonged to the North Berwick Hunting and Fishing Club and was a John Deere tractor enthusiast. Surviving Max is his loving wife of 57 years, the former Donna Jean Kindig. Also surviving are sons: Michael Klinetob and wife, Phyllis of Berwick and Matthew Klinetob of Berwick; daughter, Christy Klinetob of Berwick, grandson and "Best Buddy," Michael Logan Klinetob of Berwick, and step-brother, Richard Jameson of AK. As well as his parents, Max was preceded in death by step-sister, Letitia Theander. A viewing will be held 6-8 PM Wednesday, April 25th at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd St., Berwick. Max's funeral is 11 AM Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the funeral home. Pastor Debra Harvey will serve as the officiant.Burial will follow at the Summerhill Cemetery. Donations in Max's memory should be made to either the Summerhill Volunteer Fire Company or the Summerhill Evangelical United Methodist Church.
