Mary A. (Toth) Wolfe

Mary A. (Toth) Wolfe, 82, of Berwick, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.  Born in Berwick on October 8, 1938, she was a daughter of the late William and Anna (Sopkanich) Toth.

Mary attended Berwick Area Schools.  In 1954, she wed Richard E. Wolfe, with whom she would raise a family and share 42 years of marriage.  Mary was an active member of Immaculate Conception BVM Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered for many church activities.  Mary dedicated her life to her faith and her family.

Surviving Mary are her children:  Deborah Kushnerick of Easton, Maureen Borawski and husband, Paul, of Shermansdale, Andrew Wolfe and wife, Lori, of Berwick, Kathleen Heddens and husband, Rick, of Catawissa, Lori Crispell and husband, Robert, of Frisco, TX, Eileen Pruitt of Mifflinville, Allan Wolfe and wife, Rianne, of Easton, Richard Wolfe and wife, Clancie, of Berwick, Julie Wolfe and wife, Wendy, of St. Johns, FL, and Ryan Wolfe of Mechanicsburg; 22 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard E. Wolfe, who passed away in 1997.  She was also preceded in death by her sister, Helen Durso, brother, William G. Toth, grandson, John Kushnerick, and son-in-law, Jack Kushnerick.

All are welcome to join Mary’s family for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 20, 2021 at Immaculate Conception BVM Church, 1730 Fowler Avenue, Berwick.  Reverend Francis J. Tamburro, retired pastor, will officiate as celebrant.  The family has requested that those attending please wear a mask.  Burial at Pine Grove Cemetery Annex, Walnut Street, will follow.  Memorial contributions in Mary’s name can be made to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Avenue, Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451.  The Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc. is honored to serve the Wolfe family.  Online messages of comfort and support can be left at www.kelchnerfuneralhome.com.
