Mary A Stahl

Miss Mary A. Stahl, 101, of East Second Street, Berwick, died Tuesday, December 30th, 2014 at 11:38 PM at Balanced Care at Bloomsburg. She had been a resident there for almost two years. Born March 28, 1913 in North Berwick, she was the daughter of the late Myron Earl and Iva (Houck) Stahl. A graduate of Berwick High School and Bloomsburg State Teachers College, Miss Stahl taught first grade in the Berwick Area School District at both Salem and the former Market Street Elementary Schools for many years. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Berwick; a charter member of the Berwick Women's Civic Club; a life member of the Berwick Historical Society; AARP; Berwick Senior Circle, PSCA, PASR and the Retired Teachers Association. She served as the organist of the former St. John's Lutheran Church. Surviving are cousins and dear friends. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, January 4th, 2015 at 2 PM at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 East Third Street, Berwick. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Market Street, Berwick. A Viewing will be held Sunday from 1:00 until the time of the service at 2:00. The family will provide flowers but contributions may be given in her memory to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1600 Fowler Avenue, Berwick, PA 18603.
