Martha A. (Naugle) Barretts

November 30, 1929 — May 20, 2020

Martha Alberta Naugle Barretts, 90, of Berwick entered into eternal rest Wednesday, May 20th, 2020, at the Watsontown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born November 30, 1929, in Berwick. Daughter to the late Harvey and Beulah (Williams) Naugle. Martha attended Shickshinny High School class of 1948. She sold jewelry for Sarah Coventry, was also a seamstress at Luzerne Outerwear & Amil Manufacturing in Shickshinny, retiring in 1981. Her hobbies were traveling, gardening, and number painting. She was a member of the Town Hill United Methodist Church for 43 years. Recently was a active member of the First United Methodist Church in Berwick since 1994, serving as secretary of the Wesley Sunday Class. She was preceded in death on November 17, 2002, by her beloved husband, William Anthony Barretts, Sr., after 49 years of marriage. Also brother Lloyd Naugle of Berwick. Surviving are three sons: Harold Daniel Barretts & wife Barbara of Shickshinny, William Anthony Barretts Jr. & wife Sandra of Clinton, Illinois, Chris Andrew Barretts & wife Dianne of Holland, PA, one daughter: Connie Jean Burkholder & husband Bill of Sebring, Florida. Also surviving, a sister-in-law Rose Naugle of Berwick, along with seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. As a consequence of the current pandemic, Martha's interment at the Christus Gardens in the Elan Memorial Park will be private. Officiating will be her pastor, Pastor Bill Klebe. The family would like to thank the staff at Elmcroft of Berwick for their kind service where Martha was a resident since August of 2014. Memorial contributions in her name can be made to the First United Methodist Church, 200 N. Market Street, Berwick.
