Mark Alvin Hyde, 75, of Berwick, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025 at Glen Brook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Berwick. Born in Williamsport on June 3, 1949, he was a son to the late Alvin R. and Lillas B. (Faux) Hyde.
Mr. Hyde was a graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1967. Following his graduation, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. On September 20, 1969, Mark wed the former Linda Sitler, with whom he raised his family and shared 55 years of marriage. He was a longtime employee of Vaughn’s Bakery (which later became Maier’s Bakery) and, afterward, G&B Specialties, from which he retired in 2013. Mark was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Hobbie and was a life member of the East Berwick Hose Company. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as trap shooting. He also enjoyed restoring and tinkering with cars and attending car shows.
Surviving Mark are his beloved wife, Linda (Sitler) Hyde; sons: Bradley J. Hyde and wife, Jennifer, of Fairfield and Brooks R. Hyde and wife, Stacey, of Saint Johns, FL; grandchildren: Rachael Quesenberry and husband, Jeffrey Altman, of Coraopolis and Bradley Logan Hyde and wife, Tareesa, of Shippensburg; great-grandson, Theodore Altman-Quesenberry; and sister, Alice McKeag and husband, David, of Williamsport.
All are welcome to join Mark’s family for his Memorial Service 6 PM Thursday, March 6, 2025 at the Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc., 119-121 E. Third Street, Berwick. His pastor, Rev. Oliver Brown, will officiate. Friends will be received from 4 PM until the time of the service at 6 PM. Military honors will be rendered at the funeral home.
