Marie Jane Houck

Marie Jane (Shultz) Houck, 92 formerly of Berwick and currently a resident of Geisinger-Bloomsburg Health Care Center for the past two years, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital. She was born April 18, 1924 in Berwick, a daughter to the late Fred C. and Jessie (Cavenee) Shultz. A graduate of Berwick High School, Marie lived most of her life as a housewife. She was married to the love of her life, the late Norman Houck, who died in August of 1993. Spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Jason was very dear to her heart. Earlier in life she enjoyed doing craft work, golfing, camping, bowling, and playing bingo. She also was a member of the West Berwick Hose Company Ladies Auxiliary. As well as her husband and parents, Marie was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda (2013) and sister, Betty (2009). Surviving Marie are daughter, Tina Kershner and her husband, David of Berwick, grandson, Jason Mowday of Berwick, granddaughter, Susan Rowe of WI., and great-grandson, Tyler Rowe, also of WI. Respecting Marie's wishes, services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
