Margaret R. Schell

Margaret R. Schell, 84 of Berwick, passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 11, 2015 at her residence. She was born November 24, 1930 in Berwick, a daughter to the late Doretta McAfee. Margaret was a graduate of Berwick High School in 1948. She loved to babysit for whoever needed her love and attention. Her interests included watching soap operas, doing word search puzzles, and going to carnivals. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many, and will be greatly missed. Surviving Margaret are her son, Craig and his wife, Denise of Berwick, grandchildren, Mandy and Christopher Schell, also of Berwick, step-grandchildren, Robert, Linda, and Donald, great-grandson, Jaeden, six step-great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Betty Morgan of Berwick, brother-in-law, Dale Schell and his wife, Lorraine of Drums, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her special extended family: Bobby, Bailee, Sonya, Raegan, Robyn, and Robert. As well as her parents, Margaret was preceded in death in 1990 by her loving husband of 40 years, Jay L. Schell. Also preceding are granddaughter, Erica, half-brother, Calvin and half-sister, Dorothy. Visitation is 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday, May 14 at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd St., Berwick. A second visitation will be 10:00-11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home followed at 11:00 AM by her funeral service. Pastor John M. Hill of the Berwick Christian Church will serve as the officiant. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Margaret's memory be sent to the Berwick Christian Church, 729 E. 5th St., Berwick, PA. 18603.
