Marcella Belles

Marcella (Cedor) Belles, 89, of Titusville, FL, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2024.

Beloved and devoted wife of David Belles, they celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary in July.

Loving mother of Lisa (David) Shelly, Louise (Tom) Thompson and Laurie Griesel; loving and devoted grandmother of Paige Thompson (Jeremy Snelgrove), Carly (Robbie) Gathje, Sarah Shelly, Erin Thompson, Justin Griesel and Shannon Shelly; proud great-grandmother of Ollie and Gemma.

Born in Berwick, PA, Marcy attended Bloomsburg State College, earning a BS in Education in three years.  Upon her graduation in 1955, she accepted a teaching position in Montgomery County PA.  She and David were married in July 1956.  After their daughters were born, Marcy left teaching and raised her family full time on the family farm in Zionsville, PA. There she taught her girls how to garden, raise chickens and cows, bake delicious pies and, most importantly, be strong and independent women.  She returned to elementary teaching, first as a substitute teacher, then full time in 1974.  Upon retirement, she doted on her grandchildren with her handmade jumpers, fresh fruits from the farm and stories that made everyone laugh.  Marcy also enjoyed travelling with David in their RV all over the US.

Most of all, she was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandma who will be missed by all.  Marcy was preceded in death by her husband, David, and her sweet granddaughter, Bonnie Thompson.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Francis Hospice, 1250-B Grumman Place, Titusville, FL 32780.  Her graveside service will be Friday, May 3, 2024 at Pine Grove Cemetery Annex, Walnut Street, Berwick.  Pastor Scott Winter of Berwick Assembly of God will officiate.
