Lucinda A. Kishbaugh

Lucinda A. (Hess) Kishbaugh, 74, of Berwick, passed away peacefully in her home Saturday, October 4, 2025, with her family at her side. Born in Berwick on March 20, 1951, she was a daughter to the late Luther J. and Gloria I. (Knecht) Hess of Berwick.

Lucinda was a graduate of Berwick Area High School, Class of 1969. On October 20, 1973, she married Wayne R. Kishbaugh, with whom she would raise her family and share nearly 52 years of marriage. She spent her entire working career at Bloomsburg University, where she was dedicated to serving students in the financial aid office. Lucinda was a member of Bethany Church of Berwick. She loved nature, particularly birdwatching. In her younger years, she spent much time at her grandparent’s farm where she enjoyed many adventures with her brother and cousins. One of her favorite activities at the farm, and which she enjoyed for many years after, was horseback riding. Lucinda had a knack for storytelling and writing tales, drawing, and had a fondness for antiques and attending auctions. She also enjoyed tending to her many flower gardens. Lucinda’s greatest joy, however, was her beloved family, by whom she will be deeply missed.

Surviving Lucinda are her husband, Wayne R. Kishbaugh of Berwick; children: Jennifer A. Kishbaugh of Berwick and Jared W. Kishbaugh and wife, Amanda, of Berwick; grandson, Luke Kishbaugh; brother, Douglas J. Hess of Linglestown, PA; and nieces: Lauren Hess and husband, William Arsenault of North Wales, PA, and Rachel Hess and fiancé, John Lundeen of Flat Rock, NC.

In addition to her parents, Lucinda was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Gerilyn Hess of Linglestown.

All are welcome to join Lucinda’s family for her Funeral Service to be held at 11 AM Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc., 119-121 E. Third Street, Berwick. Her pastor, Rev. John W. Leek, will officiate. Friends will be received from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM. Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery Annex, Walnut Street, will follow.
