Louise F. (Gower) Schechterly

Louise F. (Gower) Schechterly, 69, of Berwick, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at her home.  Born in Berwick on May 30, 1952, she was a daughter to the late Robert and Margaret (Harmon) Gower.

Louise attended Berwick Area schools.  On September 19, 1970, she wed the love of her life, Roger R. Schechterly, Sr.  Together they raised their family and shared 51 years of marriage.  Family was Louise’s priority.  She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She also enjoyed word finds, arts and crafts, and her cats.

Surviving Louise is her husband, Roger R. Schechterly, Sr.  She is also survived by children:  Christopher Schechterly and wife, Rudelle, of Nescopeck, Amy Schnaufer of Sunbury, and Timothy Schechterly and wife, Allison, of Hunlock Creek; grandchildren:  Anastasia, Denise, Paulette, Lily, Timothy, Jr., Trista, Lexia, Thomas, Maggie, Dallas, Austin, Dalton, and Garret; and sisters:  Betty Winters and Hazel Schechterly.

In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by a son, Roger R. Schecterly, Jr., grandson, Roger R. Schechterly, III, and siblings:  Mary Wynings, Florence Heckman, Charlotte Gumpy, Charles Gower, Jr., Robert Gower, and Richard Gower.

All are welcome to join Louise’s family for her funeral 11 AM Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc., 119-121 E. Third Street, Berwick.  Reverend Robert J. Hettinger of Almedia Bible Church will officiate.  Friends will be received 5-7 PM Tuesday, January 18, 2022 and from 10-11 AM Wednesday, January 19 at the funeral home.  Interment at Rose Lawn Cemetery will follow her funeral.  Online messages of comfort and support can be left at www.kelchnerfuneralhome.com.
