Louise A. (Adams) Hess

May 23, 1955 — December 24, 2020

Berwick

Louise A. (Adams) Hess, 65, of Berwick, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.  Born in Berwick on May 23, 1955, she was a daughter to the late Lloyd and Verna (Deater) Adams.

Louise was a 1973 graduate of Berwick Area High School and continued her education at Luzerne County Community College.  In 1974, she wed Larue Hess, with whom she would raise her family and share 46 years of marriage.  They were separated in death by less than a day.  Good news:  they’re together, forever soulmates.  They’re rejoicing, dancing, pain free, and united with loved ones that have gone before them.  They are in heaven with God and celebrating with the angels.

Louise would spend more than 20 years working at the Berwick Hospital, where she worked in the IT field, until taking a position with Dow RHI, from which she retired.  She was a member of Berwick Assembly of God, where she was active in the Joy Club, was a program organizer of the childrens’ Christmas program, and was a team leader of the puppet club.  While “snowbirding” in Florida, she attended Faith Lighthouse Church.  Louise loved traveling, cruising, and adventures, especially in Canada.  She was a self-taught crocheter, and enjoyed singing and playing harmonica.   She loved spending time in or near the water, whether it was swimming, boating, or relaxing at the beach.  Her greatest joy, however, was time spent with her family, whether it was vacationing or enjoying game night.

Surviving Louise are her children:  April Love Patton and husband, Jamie, of Berwick and Larue Aaron Hess II and wife, Jillian, of Mifflinville; grandchildren:  Angel Larue Patton, Jamison Lloyd Patton, Lillian Elizabeth Hess, and Chase Tyler Hess; siblings:  Lloyd “Bud” Adams and wife, Debbie, of TN, Nancy Jean (Adams) Newcomer and husband, Gary, of White Deer, and Carol Ann (Adams) Dorward of Emerald; and best friend and sister-at-heart:  Barb (Miller) Robinholt of Nescopeck.

In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Larue Hess and by a brother-in-law, Thomas Dorward.

All are welcome to join Larue and Louise’s family for their memorial service at 11:00 AM Monday, December 28, 2020 at Berwick Assembly of God, 801 E. 5th Street, Berwick.  Pastor Scott Winter will officiate.  Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.  Memorial contributions in Larue and Louise's names can be made to the Deater Foundation, Inc., PO Box 255, White Deer, PA 17887.  The Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home is honored to serve the Hess family.  Online messages of love and support can be left at www.kelchnerfuneralhome.com.
