Lloyd M Naugle

Lloyd M. Naugle, 81 of Berwick, passed away Monday, March 17, 2014 at Geisinger Bloomsburg Health Care Center, with his family at his side. He had been in ill health for the past serveral months. Lloyd was born June 10, 1932 in Berwick, a son of the late Harvey L and Beulah A. (Williams) Naugle. A graduate of Huntington Mills High School in 1951, he served in Korea as a corporal in the U. S. Army. He was employed for almost 40 years at Wise Foods, where he retired as a mechanic in the maintenance department. Lloyd was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed restoring old cars and woodworking. He made various furniture pieces for family and friends and referred to himself as a "wood butcher." He loved to tinker in his workshop and could fix anything. An active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, he belonged to the "Men in Mission" group until his health declined. Lloyd and his wife, Rose enjoyed camping and traveling. They took many bus trips including old Route 66 to California and a trip to Alaska. Lloyd is survived by his wife of 52½ years, Rose M. (Streeshock) Naugle, formerly of Hazleton; a son, Dr. David L. Naugle and his wife, Linda of Hazleton; two daughters: Lynn Y. Naugle of Mifflinburg and Luann M. Smith and her husband, David of Elizabethtown; grandsons: Joshua and Zachary Naugle: Pop-Pop's "Little Buddies," sister, Martha Barretts of Berwick, special cousin, Janet Howard of Berwick, sister-in-law, Gloria Sawicki and her husband, Lee of Ohio, and many nieces and nephews. His funeral is 11:00 AM Friday, March 21 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1600 Fowler Avenue, Berwick. Pastor John Koons will serve as the officiant. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 AM until time of the service. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. The family asks that any memorial contributions be sent to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
