Lillian Mae (Hill) Slusser, 97, formerly of Berwick, departed this world and was welcomed into her Lord and Savior's presence August 21, 2018 at Sunset Ridge Healthcare of Bloomsburg, where she had resided for several years. Born in Berwick November 21, 1920, Lillian was a daughter of the late Irvin and Bessie (Erwine) Hill. She resided in Berwick for most of her life and was employed by the Berwick School District as a cafeteria worker until her retirement in 1983. Lillian attended the Berwick Bible Church and was a member of the Rosewood Social Club. She loved the simple pleasures of life, especially flower gardening, reading and time spent with her family and friends. Lillian was a woman of great faith and lived believing God's word to be the truth for every day. Her life verse was Phillipians 4:13 which reads "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." A kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Lillian will be sorely missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to have known her. Surviving Lillian are her children: Hurley F. "Duke" Slusser, Jr. and wife, Margaret of Bloomsburg, Dianne E. Gill of Berwick, and Cynthia Heacock and husband, Bradley of Berwick, 12 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. As well as her parents, Lillian was preceded in death in 1994 by her loving husband of 55 years, Hurley Franklin Slusser, Sr. Also preceding were siblings: Robert and Paul Hill and Jane Hill Shaffer. Services are private, at the convenience of the family.
