Leonora A. (Adams) Garrison

Leonora A. (Adams) Garrison, 89, of Berwick, passed away peacefully in her home October 11, 2022.  Born in Berwick on November 3, 1932, she was a daughter to the late Paul and Orianna (Ash) Adams.

Leonora was a graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1950.  She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.  She had enjoyed volunteering at her church, as well as at the Berwick Hospital.  She had also been an avid reader.  Her greatest joy was her family, to whom she had been a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker.

Surviving Leonora are her sons:  David W. Garrison and wife, Cynthia, of Berwick, Dale L. Garrison and wife, Mary, of Berwick, Duane A. Garrison and wife, Susan, of Nescopeck, and Daniel S. Garrison of Stillwater; her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, John Adams of Belleview, FL; and brother-in-law, Patrick Schwab, of Berwick.

In addition to her parents, Leonora was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Robert L. “Bob” Garrison, who passed away August 8, 2000.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Donald R. Garrison, and siblings:  Paul Adams, Jr. and Judy Schwab.

All are welcome to join Leonora’s family for her funeral 11 AM Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at the Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc., 119-121 E. Third Street, Berwick.  Chaplain Carrie Stine will officiate.  Friends will be received from 10 AM until the time of the service.  Interment at Bethel Hill Cemetery in Sweet Valley will follow.  Memorial contributions in Leonora’s name can be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 1000 Orange Street, Berwick, PA 18603.  Online messages of comfort and support can be left at www.kelchnerfuneralhome.com.
