Leona Catherine (Williams) Slusser

Leona Catherine Slusser, 90, of Berwick, passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, February 27, 2020. Born in Berwick March 21, 1929, she was a daughter to the late Elmer and Margaret (Andreas) Williams. Leona was a graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1947. She dedicated herself to raising her family and maintaining her home. Leona was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where she had worked as a secretary. She enjoyed shopping, watching her regular television programs, walking at the Susquehanna Riverlands with her husband, and exercising, which she did right up until a week prior to her passing. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her family, by whom she will be deeply missed. Surviving Leona are her daughter, Susan Slusser and husband, David Szatkowski, of Berwick. In addition to her parents, Leona was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Larue Slusser. Also preceding was her brother, Dale Williams and sister, Faye Eckert. Leona's family would like to thank Helen, Jenn, Marthan, Randi, Sharon, and Wanda, her caregivers, without the aid of which they wouldn't have been able to do it.
