Lenord J. Kemper, 70 of Berwick, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at his residence Saturday, September 23, 2017. He was born May 16, 1947 in Berwick, a son to the late Leonard W. and Jean A. (Thomas) Kemper. Lenord was a graduate of Berwick High School. He then enlisted in the Navy from 1965 thru 1968 and served aboard the nuclear submarine USS Sablefish. After his Honorable Discharge, he operated his own business as an independent trucker. Later, he drove truck for Wise Borden Snack Foods. Spending time with his family was most important to Lenord. He also enjoyed NASCAR, golf, hunting and fishing. He was a life member of the Slavonic American Club, Ranger Hose Company, and VFW Post 8306. Lenord also was a Naval Reservist, a member of the Teamsters Union, Millville American Legion, American Ukrainian Citizen Club, and the Russian Glee Club. A kind and loving man, Lenord will be missed by all who knew him. Surviving Lenord are his daughter, Caroline Allen and husband, Chip of TX., sons: Lenord J. Kemper, Jr. of WA. and Patrick Kemper of Berwick, granddaughter, Gianna Allen of TX., sisters: Bonita M. Klatt, Susan E. Younker, and Kathleen J. Diehl, brothers: Edward W. Kemper and wife, Peg, David F. Kemper and wife, Rosemary, John W. Kemper and wife, Loretta, and numerous nieces and nephews. Lenord was preceded in death by a brother, Roland D. Kemper. A memorial service will be held 12:00 pm Saturday, October 7 at the American Ukranian Citizens Club, 1222 Freas Ave., Berwick.
