Larue Allen Slusser, 85 of Berwick, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Berwick Retirement Village I, where he was a resident. He was born July 16, 1929 in Berwick, the son of the late Elmer and Edna Slusser. A Berwick High School Class of 1947 graduate, Larue served in the Army during the Korean War. Afterwards, he worked at his uncle's hardware store until it closed. He then went to work as manager of Sutter's Hardware until he retired. Larue's likes and interests included woodworking, NASCAR, gardening, bike riding, and taking walks with his wife at the Riverlands. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Darwin and sister, Betty Slusser Remley. Surviving Larue are his loving wife, Leona and daughter, Susan her husband, David of Berwick. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
