Larue A. Hess

Larue A. Hess, 68, of Berwick, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.  Born in Berwick on June 23, 1952, he was a son to the late Willard and Lois (Kessler) Hess.

Larue was a graduate of Benton High School, Class of 1970, where he was active in the FFA.  In 1974 he wed the former Louise Adams, with whom he would raise his family and share 46 years of marriage.  They were separated in death by less than a day.  Good news:  they’re together, forever soulmates.  They’re rejoicing, dancing, pain free, and united with loved ones that have gone before them.  They are in heaven with God and celebrating with the angels.

Mr. Hess was a long time employee of the AC&F.  He was a member of Berwick Assembly of God and also attended Faith Lighthouse Church while “snowbirding” in Plant City, Florida.  Larue loved spending time with his family; hunting, fishing, vacationing, and boating.  He was fond of tinkering, and did so regularly on cars and tractors.  He was also known to enjoy a good nap.

Surviving Larue are his children:  April Love Patton and husband, Jamie, of Berwick and Larue Aaron Hess II and wife, Jillian, of Mifflinville; grandchildren:  Angel Larue Patton, Jamison Lloyd Patton, Lillian Elizabeth Hess, and Chase Tyler Hess; brother:  Larry Hess and wife, Marilyn, of Berwick; sister:  Louise Hess and wife, Patti Sanfillipo, of Bloomsburg; and niece:  Kim Hess.

All are welcome to join Larue and Louise’s family for their memorial service at 11:00 AM Monday, December 28, 2020 at Berwick Assembly of God, 801 E. 5th Street, Berwick.  Pastor Scott Winter will officiate.  Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.  Memorial contributions in Larue and Louise's names can be made to the Deater Foundation, Inc., PO Box 255, White Deer, PA 17887.  The Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home is honored to serve the Hess family.  Online messages of love and support can be left at www.kelchnerfuneralhome.com.
