Kenneth A. Bush, 88 of Berwick, entered eternal life Sunday, December 13, 2015 at Signature Healthcare of Bloomsburg after a battle with cancer. He was born December 19, 1926, a son to the late Leon Frederick and Florence E. (Sitler) Bush. Ken attended school in Bethlehem and Hazleton, from where he graduated. He also attended Penn State University, where he majored in engineering. Ken was a veteran, serving his country in the Navy. Ken worked for many years as a manager at Bell Telephone in Berwick and AT&T in Bloomsburg and participated in various community organizations and projects throughout his life. A passionate outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hiking, and observing nature. Camping, however, was his favorite pastime. He and the love of his life, his wife of over 63 years, the former Jane Knyrim, who passed January 8, 2014, spent many days in the wilderness, enjoying nature at its best. They especially loved trips to Alaska and Nova Scotia and sharing their experiences with fellow campers and family. Surviving Ken are his son, Fred and his wife, Sue of MD., daughters, Carolyn Bower and her husband, Donnie of Catawissa and Beverly Zelenak of CO., four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. A sister, Katherine Whitner of Allentown also preceded Ken in death. A memorial service, celebrating Ken's life will be held 11:00 AM Friday at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd St., Berwick. Pastor Tom Jones of the First United Methodist Church of Berwick will serve as the celebrant. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
