Judith E. Schwab, 77, of Berwick, passed away Monday, April 19, 2021 at St. Thomas Post-Acute and Rehabilitation Center in Berwick. Born in Berwick on June 4, 1943, she was a daughter to the late Paul N. and Orianna (Ash) Adams.
Judith was a 1961 graduate of Berwick High School, where she had been active in chorus, Glee Club, and the drama club. Following graduation she worked at Wise Snack Foods and Luzerne Outerwear. Judith had worked for Columbia Sullivan Head Start for 30 years, retiring in 2013. She was a member of Berwick Assembly of God. Judith became active in Scouting when her son, Hurley, asked to join the Boy Scouts. She would devote more than 20 years to Scouting, holding numerous positions and titles within the organization, and was one of the first women in the area to receive the Silver Beaver Award. Judith also enjoyed camping, roller skating, travelling, attending local fairs and craft shows, as well as the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. She was also a CB radio enthusiast. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She loved annual family reunions and spending time with them.
Surviving Judith is her loving husband, Patrick A. Schwab, with whom she would have celebrated 33 years of marriage on April 23. Also surviving is her son: Hurley Reese of Berwick; grandson: Stephen Mycle Perkoski of Selingsgrove; sister: Leonora Garrison of Berwick; brother: John Paul Adams, Sr. of FL; former spouse: Donald Perkoski; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins
In addition to her parents, Judith was preceded in death by son: Ronald Perkoski; brother: Paul N. Adams, Jr.; and former spouses: Hurley Reese, Sr. and Vernon Hill.
All are welcome to join Judith’s family for her viewing 2:00-4:00 PM Sunday, April 25 2021 at Berwick Assembly of God, 801 E. 5th Street, Berwick. Her funeral will be 11:00 AM Monday, April 26, 2021, also at the church. Pastor Scott Winter will officiate. Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
