She had the diagnosis of ovarian cancer for the past 7 ½ years. Born October 26, 1942 in Berwick, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Emma (Shultz) Featherman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred H. Gizenski, Sr., of 42 years, on February 16, 2004. Mrs. Gizenski was a 1960 graduate of Northwest High School and attained Trust School Certification through the Wharton School of Business. She also held other professional certifications. She was a longtime employee of First Keystone Community Bank of Berwick where she was a Senior Trust Officer, retiring in December 2004 after 28 years of service. Mrs. Gizenski was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Berwick for 50 years. She held numerous offices at the church and served as the Sunday School pianist and was a member of the Choir. Her Church family was an integral part of her life. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed photography-everyone who has been in contact with her has been blessed by her flower beds, flower pots and pictures of them and the many places she traveled in the United States and abroad. Surviving are her three children: Denise A. Rhodes and her husband, Eric, of Mechanicsburg; Alfred H. Gizenski, Jr., and his wife, Paula, of Hobbie; David S. Gizenski, of Hershey; four grandchildren: Nathan Rhodes, Nicholas Rhodes, Hannah Gizenski and Benjamin Gizenski; a sister, Donna Meyers and her husband, Duane, of Hunlock Creek as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 9th, 2016 at 1:30 PM at the First Baptist Church, 224 West Front Street, Berwick, with the Rev. Charles Jensen and the Rev. Rob Rice, officiating. Burial will be in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. A Visitation will be held Saturday from 12:30 PM until the time of the Service at 1:30 at the Church.
