Josephine L. Volpicelli

Josephine L. Volpicelli, 85 of Berwick, passed away Monday, May 11, 2015 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was born August 8, 1929 in Berwick, a daughter to the late Frank and Filomena (DiPippa) Apriceno. Josephine was a member of the Class of 1947 at Berwick High School. She worked for forty-five years at Lady Ester Lingerie before retiring September 1, 1994. Most important to her in life were her family and her church. She was a very active member at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church of Berwick, where she served as an officer in the Rosary Society. A kind and loving woman, she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Surviving Josephine are her brother, Dominick Apriceno of Scotch Plains, N.J. and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Josephine was preceded in death January 9, 1975 by her husband, John, November 9, 1997 sister, Michalena Pypiqk, and September 20, 2000 brother, Louis Apriceno. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM Friday, May 15 at St. Joseph Church, 721 Monroe Street, Berwick. Fr. Dennis Dalessandro will serve as the celebrant. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 until time of the mass. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
