John Loy Polowchak, 74, died September 1, 2016 in Tucson, Arizona. He was born March 21, 1942 in Berwick, a son to the late Michael and Jessie (Redline) Polowchak. John was a graduate of the Berwick Area High School Class of 1960. He then attended and graduated from Williamsport Tech, after which he worked at Hughes Aerospace in California until 1984. He then relocated to Tucson, Arizona where he worked for Raytheon Missile Systems until his retirement. While living in Berwick, he had attended the Berwick Christian Church, and he was a member of a Christian church in Tucson. John was very proud of his career in the aerospace industry. He enjoyed his co-workers and the challenges that the job presented. He was a warm, generous, thoughtful, thinking and loving, man who is deeply missed by those close to him. Surviving John is his daughter, Johanna Polowchak Koszegi of NC, a sister, Sharon Polowchak Weaver of Berwick, brothers: Van M. Polowchak of OR and Perry D. Polowchak and wife, Deborah of NY, grandchildren: Brooks Polowchak, Lauren Owens, Caitlin Vargas, Hanna Koszegi, Nicholas Koszegi, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. As well as his parents, John was preceded in death in 2011 by his loving wife, the former Barbara J. Robbins. Also preceding were sons: Michael J. in 2010 and John L., Jr. in 1961. Graveside services are 1:30 Saturday, October 8th at Elan Memorial Park. Pastor John Hill of the Berwick Christian Church will serve as the officiant.
