Joann Mae (Gardner) Davis

JoAnn Mae (Gardner) Davis, 73, of Mansfield, Georgia, died at 6:30 AM on Monday, October

10th, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 26th, 1949 in

Muskegon, Michigan, to Russel and Doris Gardner. She married the love of her life, James

“Jimmy” Davis on October 29th, 1966, and precedes her in death. She was remarried to Samuel

Abney in 1978, who also precedes her in death.

JoAnn loved her work with children and retired from the Marion County School Board in 2011.

She enjoyed everything outdoors. You always found her attending to her beautiful azaleas and

gardenias, caring for her many beloved pets and chasing a few stray bears off of her property.

JoAnn was beautiful inside and out. She was strong, smart, funny and humble with a heart of

gold.

JoAnn is survived by her Daughter, Farrah Lee Stewart (Donald) of Mansfield, GA, Stepson,

Robert Abney (Erin) of Ocala, FL, Stepdaughter, Brenda Abney of FL, Granddaughter, Jessica

Dinneen (Todd) of Barkhamsted, CT, Grandsons, Seth Davis of Orlando, FL, Andrew Davis of

Arlington, VA, Jonathan Stewart of Stem NC, Austin Gosford of Mansfield, GA, and Phillip

Stewart of Stem, NC. As well as many other friends who became family throughout the years.

She is preceded in death by her father, Russell Gardner, mother, Doris Gardner, and son Scott

Davis.

Family and friends are welcome to join in celebrating JoAnn at her viewing from 3-5 PM

Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc., 119-121 E. Third Street, Berwick, PA.

Graveside service will be held at 10 AM, Monday, October 17, 2022 at

Summer Hill Cemetery. Pastor Scott Winter of Berwick Assembly of God will officiate. Online
