Joan E. Osborne

Joan E. Osborne, 83, of Berwick, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born October 9, 1931, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John G. and Anna C. (Meurer) Miller. Joan was married for 50 years to William F. Osborne, Jr., who passed in 2005. As well as being a housewife, she volunteered at the Berwick Hospital Gift Shop, belonged to the Happy Hatters and Silver Sneakers, enjoyed playing pinochle, taking bus trips and was a former Rotary Ann. As a member of the First United Methodist Church of Berwick, Joan was an active and willful servant of her Lord and Savior. Joan was a very kind person and will be missed by everyone who knew her. Family meant everything to Joan. She was the heartbeat of her family and was a warm and loving mother and grandmother who kept her family close and caring for one another. Joan especially enjoyed Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners when her house was full of family, fun and laughter. She was known for her chocolate chip cookies and special coffee cake. One of her most favorite places to vacation and spend time with family was Ocean City, NJ. Many years were spent on the beach and boardwalk enjoying her children and grandchildren. Surviving Joan, are her three children: Carol Ann Lomupo and her husband Kevin, of Pittsburgh, William F. Osborne, III, of Berwick, and Janice L. Adams and her husband, Dean, of Mechanicsburg; grandchildren: Amanda, Tony and his wife Amanda, Vince Lomupo, Justin, Samantha, Graham Osborne, Danielle and Michael Adams, and also her loyal & loving cat, Pippin. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dolores Borne. A viewing will be held Thursday evening form 7 to 9 pm at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, Inc., 119-121 E. Third St., Berwick. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 am at the funeral home with her Pastor, Tom Jones, officiating. Burial will be held in Pine Grove Cemetary, Walnut St, Berwick, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to: The McBride Memorial Library, 500 Market St., Berwick, PA 18603, The Berwick Theater and Center for Community Arts, Inc., 110 E. Front St., Berwick, PA 18603, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
