Jeanette G. Nevius, 80, of Elizabethtown and formerly of Berwick, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown. Born in Hillsville, VA on June 28, 1940, she was a daughter to the late Carlos and Pauline (Dalton) King.
Jeanette was a graduate of Hillsville High School, Class of 1958. She continued her education, studying at Milligan College in Johnson City, TN. Jeanette had been employed by Wise Foods and at the Nevius Auction Service, which she and her husband, Daniel, operated. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Berwick, Order of the Eastern Star, Berwick Chapter 228, and of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed being outdoors; hunting, fishing, and gardening. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed cooking. She was a talented seamstress and volunteered her skills to make hats for patients undergoing chemotherapy at Geisinger in Danville. Her greatest joy, however, was her family and many friends, by whom she will be deeply missed.
Jeanette is survived by her son, Douglas Woodruff and wife, Lisa, of CO, step-sons: David Nevius and wife, Anita of NJ, Daniel Nevius and wife, Sheila, of MD, and Dennis Nevius of Bloomsburg, step-daughter: Sandra Clossen and husband, Dean, of Mifflinville, as well as 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson and several cousins.
In addition to her parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by her loving husband of 15 years, Mr. Elwood Lincoln Daniel Nevius, who passed September 27, 2007.
All are welcome to attend Jeanette’s graveside service 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 24 at the Mifflinville Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her name can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
