Janice H (Whitmire) Dyer

Janice H. (Whitmire) Dyer, 91, of Berwick, passed away peacefully Monday, April 14, 2025 at Celebration Villa of Berwick.  Born in Berwick on January 28, 1934, she was a daughter to the late Clyde K. and Arline A. (Harter) Whitmire.

Janice was a graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1951, and continued her education at the Geisinger School of Nursing, obtaining her RN in 1954.  She was employed by Geisinger, the Danville State Hospital, and the office of Doctors Joseph and Frank Gegwich, from which she retired in 2000.  Janice most recently attended LCBC Church in Bloomsburg and had been a member of the former Fowlersville United Methodist Church.  Nursing came naturally to her, as she was a born caregiver.  She had diligently attended to her mother and father, as well as other family members, as the need arose.  She was a voracious reader and loved spending time with her beloved children and grandchildren, by whom she is deeply missed.

Surviving Janice are her children: Jill Venditti and husband, Angelo, of Berwick, Douglas Dyer and wife, Pam, of Lewisberry, and Nancy Kriebel of Berwick; grandchildren: Angelo Venditti and wife, Denise, Tiffany Lewis and husband, Justin, Doug Dyer, Jr., David Dyer, Christian Dyer and wife, Mandy, Jillian Johnson and husband, Jeremiah, and Jaimee Olerta and husband, Dylan; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Jackie Keck; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Bloom.
