Jack W. Farver, 82, of Berwick, passed away with his family at his side Thursday evening, June 20, 20019 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. He was born October 13, 1936 in Berwick, a son of the late William and Nola (Snyder) Farver. Jack lived in Berwick almost his entire life, where he worked at the Wise Potato Chip Company for ten years and the Dana Corporation for twenty-three years before retiring. He also served honorably for ten years in the Pennsylvania National Guard. Jack was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church of Berwick, the Masons, and the American Antique Car Association. Jack was a gifted handyman. He even built his own home. Playing pinochle and tinkering with antique cars and trucks were among his many interests. He enjoyed helping others by volunteering at the Senior Center for over twenty years and delivering Meals on Wheels. Jack also volunteered at PA Pets. He was especially fond of cats. Surviving Jack is his loving wife of 62 years, the former Rowena Wright. Also surviving is son, David W. Farver, granddaughter, Jennifer Farver, grandson, Ryan Farver, all of Harrisburg, nephews: Michael, Mark, and Joe Farver, Jr., and sister-in-law, Pat Farver. As well as his parents, Jack was preceded in death by three brothers: Tom G., Ed G., and his twin: Joe W. Farver. A kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Jack will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Jack's viewing is 9:00 to 11:00 AM Monday, June 24th at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd Street, Berwick. A Masonic service and funeral, officiated by Reverend Max Sitler will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Elan Memorial Park.
