Hilda E. Zofcin, 96, formerly of Berwick, passed away April 18, 2018, at Brookdale Assisted Living, Lake Worth, FL, where she had resided. She was born September 14, 1921, in Muhlenburg, daughter of the late Edward Barnes and L. Blanche (Culver) Vosler. Hilda was a 1938 graduate of Shickshinny High School and subsequently the Wilkes-Barre General School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for three years at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and twenty years at Berwick Hospital where she was a cardiac ICU supervisor. Hilda was a member of the Bower Memorial United Methodist Church, the Eastern Star Chapter 190 of Shickshinny, and the Berwick Hospital Auxiliary. Surviving Hilda are her son, Harold J. Zofcin, and his wife, Aileen, of Lake Worth, FL. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John H. "Jack" Zofcin. Also preceding were daughter Diane Zofcin; brothers Sheldon Vosler and Edward Vosler, Jr.; and sisters Esther Trumbower, Mildred Belles, and infant Beatrice. Graveside services are 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at the Bloomingdale Cemetery. Pastor Ralph Hartenbach will serve as the officiant.
