H. Tyler Whitenight, 55 of Berwick, died Friday, October 14, 2016 at the Gardens At Orangeville. He was born October 2, 1961 in Berwick, a son to the late Harold L. and June (Southwick) Whitenight. Tyler worked for 21 years as a 911 Dispatcher at the Columbia County 911 Center before retiring for health reasons. He was a member of both the Summerhill and Reliance fire companies and the Berwick Elks. Playing cards and hanging out with friends and family were what he enjoyed most. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and enjoyed his friendship. As well as his parents, Tyler was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy in 2012 and brother, Jerry in 2013. Surviving Tyler is his wife, the former Wendy Knorr, step-daughter, Nichole, step-sons: Joshua and Steven, and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. A celebration of Tyler's life will be held 5:00 PM Thursday, October 20 at the Summerhill Fire Company. Pastor John Hill of the Berwick Christian Church will serve as the celebrant. Contributions to help defray funeral expenses may be sent to the family.
