Gordon R. Smith

Gordon R. Smith, 62, of Berwick, passed away suddenly Thursday, March 5, 2026 at his home. Born in Sayre on July 14, 1963, he was a son to the late Richard and Donna (Belcher) Smith.

Mr. Smith was a graduate of Berwick High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserve. On September 28, 1985, he wed the former Patricia M. Weisbrod, with whom he would raise his family and share 40 years of marriage. He spent many years working for Citterio USA in Freeland. In his younger years, he worked in construction. Gordon loved spending time outdoors, whether fishing, camping, or playing horseshoes. His greatest joys, however, were his family and the times spent with them.

Surviving Gordon is his wife, Patricia M. (Weisbrod) Smith; children: Tonya Brinzo and Scott Smith, both of Berwick; grandchildren: Cheyanna Britton, Scott Smith, Jr., and Maci Smith; and siblings: Mary Force and husband, Max, of Berwick, Joyce Snyder and husband, Dennis, of Montoursville, Sindey Hopper and husband, Charles, of Eden, NC, and Fred Smith of Harrisburg.

Gordon’s services are private and at the convenience of his family. In keeping with Gordon’s love of animals, memorial contributions in his name may be made to Animal Resource Center, PO Box 439, Bloomsburg, PA 17815. The Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc., of Berwick, is honored to serve the Smith family.
