Glovene L. (Stout) Burke

Glovene L. Burke, 101, of Beach Haven, passed away peacefully at her home Friday, November 13, 2020 with her family at her side.  Born in Berwick on March 1, 1919, she was a daughter to the late James and Edna (Michael) Stout.

Glovene attended Berwick Area Schools and had been employed by Consolidated Cigar Corporation.  She enjoyed crocheting and making afghans, as well as spending time outside, tending to her garden and flowers.  Her greatest joy, however, was her family.  Glovene took pride in her children.  She loved spending time with them and her many grandchildren.

Surviving Glovene are her sons:  James Burke of Allentown, Jack Burke of CA, and Russell Burke, Jr. of Berwick; 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Glovene was preceded in death by her loving husband, Russell Burke, Sr., who passed on April 1, 1974.  Also preceding were children:  Gerald E. Burke and Bonnie L. Sitler; brothers:  Bud Stout and Carl Stout; and sister:  Geneva Stout.

All are welcome to join Glovene’s family for her viewing 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, November 17 at Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc., 119-121 E.
