Geraldine H. Troy

Geraldine H. “Gerry” (Lutz) Troy, 92, of Mifflinville, passed away Friday, October 2, 2026 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Born in Bloomsburg on December 6, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Wilbur and Elsie (Snyder) Lutz.

Gerry was a graduate of Mifflinville High School, Class of 1951, where she had been a cheerleader. She worked at Briar Knitting and, later, Ames department store. Gerry was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mifflinville. She loved animals. Her pets included cats, dogs, rabbits, and birds and she enjoyed collecting; namely salt and pepper shakers, glassware, teddy bears, and cross jewelry. Gerry also enjoyed games. Although she liked Uno, Solitaire, Gin Rummy, and Ludo, her favorite game was bingo. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and was known as an excellent cook and baker. Above all, Gerry treasured her family and the times spent with them.

Surviving Gerry are her children: Sandra Hoffman and husband, William, of Milton and Robert Troy and wife, Laurella, of Berwick; grandchildren: Samantha Hoffman, Zedd Robbins III, Alexander Troy, and Catrina Troy; great-grandchildren: Kapri, Kayden, and Raelynn Troy; and sister, Louise Foose.

In addition to her parents, Gerry was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel W. “Tom” Troy, Jr., who passed away April 8, 2007. She was also preceded in death by son Randy Troy, and siblings: Elaine Wertz and Robert Lutz.

All are welcome to join Gerry’s family for her Funeral Service 11 AM Monday, October 12, 2026 at Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc., 119-121 E. Third Street, Berwick. Reverend Daniel Warntz will officiate. Friends will be received from 10 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11 AM. Interment at Mifflinville Cemetery will follow.
