George E. Bokrosh, Sr.

George E. Bokrosh, Sr., 83, of Berwick, passed away January 15, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Born in Coaldale October 10, 1934, he was a son to the late George and Anna (Bachorick) Bokrosh. George was a graduate of Lansford High School and Pennsylvania Hospital Nursing School in Philadelphia. His career as a nurse anesthetist at the Bloomsburg Hospital spanned more than 35 years. George was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He was also a longtime member of the 12th Man Booster Club and served for years as the organization's treasurer. He was an avid Berwick Bulldog football fan. George greatly loved his family, and treasured time spent with them. A kind and caring man, he will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to have known him. Surviving George is son: George Bokrosh, Jr. and wife, Wendy, of Kingston, daughters: Linda Bokrosh of Berwick, and Cheryl Brown and husband, Ronnie, of Millville, grandchildren: George Bokrosh III of Kingston, JP Bokrosh and wife, Tracey, of Wilkes-Barre, Daniel Bokrosh of Hanover Township, Maribeth Ferraro-Swearer and husband, James, of VA, Steven Bokrosh of Kingston, Karen Metzger and husband, Zane, of Benton, and Kristine Summers and husband, Ronald, of Millville, 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Constance (Fillman) Bokrosh. All are welcome to join George's family for his funeral at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 25 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1600 Fowler Avenue, Berwick. Pastor David Kingsborough will officiate. His viewing will be 9:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
