Gary N. Moore, 69 of Mifflinville, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 at Berwick Retirement Village II, where he had recently become a resident. He was born November 25, 1944 in Berwick, a son to the late Lawrence T. and Mary E. (Hyde) Moore. A graduate of Berwick High School, Gary served in the Army from 1963 to 1966. He was an entrepreneur who owned and operated several business ventures during his working years including oil service, plumbing service, video store, and Christmas tree sales. He also worked for many years at Berwick Offray. Gary was a volunteer at the Little League World Series in Williamsport for over 17 years. He also was an avid hunter. Surviving are his loving wife with whom he shared his life for over 44 years, the former Gail Derr, his son, Gary N. Moore II and his wife, Barbara of Berwick, Granddaughter, Rita Mae Moore of Berwick, grandson, Jefferey Moore of Mifflinville, sisters: Wanda Rettew of York and Nancy Brooks of Ohio, and one great-granddaughter. As well as his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy L. Moore Donlin and brothers: Robert and Dean Moore. His funeral service is 11:00 AM Thursday, October 9 at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 East Third St., Berwick. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until time of the service. Capt. Kevin Polito of the Salvation Army Citadel will serve as the officiant. Burial will follow at Elan Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Berwick Hospice, 6850 Lows Rd., #102, Berwick, PA. 18603.
