Gail L. (Samsel) Ogin, 79, of Slocum Township, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre. Born in Berwick on October 2, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Hannah (Allen) Samsel.
Gail was a graduate of Berwick High School. In February of 1965, she married Leroy L. Ogin, Sr., with whom she would raise their son and share more than 59 years of marriage. She was a seamstress by trade and had been employed by Luzerne Outerwear and Lady Esther Lingerie Corp. Gail was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Hobbie. She loved spending time with her family.
Surviving Gail is her beloved husband, Leroy L. Ogin, Sr.; her son, Leroy L. Ogin, Jr. and wife, Amy, of Wapwallopen; grandchildren: Joshua Ogin and Zachary Ogin, both of Wapwallopen; sisters: Edna Whitenight and Avis Devine; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Gail was preceded in death by her siblings: Georgia Bellum, Kenneth Samsel, Sandra Culver, and Thomas Samsel.
