Frank Zenzel, Sr., 84, of Briar Creek Township, died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at his home. He was born April 23, 1932 in Berwick, a son to the late Michael and Mary (Jurbala) Zenzel. Frank attended the Berwick Area Schools. Afterwards, he worked for Berwick Weaving before enlisting and serving proudly in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. Following his enlistment, he and his family resided in Michigan and then Alaska before returning to the Berwick area, where he was employed at Berwick Weaving and Fairchild's Dairy. It was after this that he and his wife purchased a farm and raised Black Angus cattle. Later he delivered flour for Maiers Bakery until his retirement. In addition to farming, Frank enjoyed hunting, traveling, and riding ATV's. A devoted and loving husband and father, he loved spending time with his family. He was a member of Holy Annunciation Church. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Sarah (Eshleman) Zenzel. He is also survived by his son; Frank Zenzel, Jr. and wife Holly of Berwick, step-granddaughters; Erika, Krista, and Heidi, step-great-grandson; Mason, brother; Michael Zenzel, and sister; Mary Maholick. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Zenzel. Frank's funeral will be 1:00 PM on Friday, March 24 at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 East Third Street, Berwick. Father Michael Demko of Holy Annunciation Orthodox Church will officiate. A viewing will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Holy Annunciation Cemetery.
