Francis L. Woodworth

Francis L. Woodworth, 88, formerly of Nescopeck, died August 1, 2017 in Huntsville, Alabama, where he had resided for the past 6 years. He was born March 26, 1929 in Kansas City, MO., a son to the late Willis E. and Mary Margaret (Link) Woodworth. Francis attended Northeast High School in Kansas City, MO. before enlisting in the Navy, where he served with honor for over 11 years before being discharged as a disabled veteran in 1958. He then worked for the Wise Potato Chip Company and later for 17 years at Champion Valley Farms until retiring in 1988. He was a Life Member of Disabled American Veterans #147030, Mountain City Chapter #3. Francis was an avid fisherman, husband, father, brother, and friend to everyone who knew him. He also was a man of great faith and trust in his Lord and Savior. He will be sorely missed. Surviving Francis are 2 sons: Dwayne Woodworth and wife, Susan and Richard Woodworth, all of AL., 2 daughters: Christine Hess of Berwick and Nicole Woodworth of Nescopeck, 8 grandchildren: Renee, Michael, Sarah, Jonathan, Nathan, Angelica, Giavanna, and Francesca, and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceding Francis were his loving wife of over 50 years, the former Lillian Miller, daughter, Cheryl, and 3 siblings: Earl, William, and Ethel. Graveside services with military honors will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 18th at Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
