Florence S. Benjamin, 73, of Berwick, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family, Sunday, December 15, 2019. Born in Rohrsburg June 9, 1946, she was a daughter to the late Michael and Florence (Force) Smith. Florence was a graduate of Berwick Area High School, Class of 1965. She worked as a seamstress at several local textile mills. After the birth of her children, she devoted herself to raising her family. Florence attended First United Methodist Church in Berwick and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and painting ceramics. Her greatest joy, however, was her family, by whom she will be deeply missed. Surviving Florence is her loving husband of 42 years, Arthur Benjamin. Also surviving are children: Mary Ann McGann and husband, Dale, of Berwick, Theresa Marie Lemons of Bloomsburg, April Kaiser of Berwick, Julie Zanolini of Berwick, and Chad Wood of IN, 15 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, siblings: Theodore Howard Smith, Robert Henry Smith, Clara Eileen Mankoski, and Roger D Smith, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. All are welcome to join Florence's family for her viewings 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, December 19 and 10:00-11:00 AM Friday, December 20 at the Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc., 119-121 E. Third Street, Berwick. Her funeral will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 20 at the funeral home. Pastor Richard Thomas of Bethel Bible Church will officiate.
