Evelyn Mae Berry, 69 of Berwick, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 12, 2013 at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center Emergency Room. She was born April 13, 1944 in Bristol, CT., a daughter to Elmer and Charlotte (Becker) Benjamin. Evelyn worked throughout her life retiring as a quality assurance inspector. She then was able to spend more time enjoying things such as putting puzzles together, craftworks, sitting on the porch while visiting friends, and cooking with her granddaughters. Being with her family was her greatest love. Surviving Evelyn are her mother, Charlotte, two daughters: Laura L. Schartzer and her husband, Chuck of Nescopeck and Michelle L. Hall and her husband, Keenan of Hanover, a son, Raymond L. Berry and his wife, Debora of Hanover Township, four grandchildren: Ashley and Sarah Schartzer and Amy and Mackenzie Berry, eight brothers: Elmer, Roger, Harold, Gary, Donnie,Wayne, Carl, and Edwin Benjamin, seven sisters: Rose Bush, Beverly Collins, Charlotte "Bun" Campbell, Joyce Kosincinski, Linda Vierstra, Donna Berryann, and Mary Maisonet, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Evelyn in death were her loving husband of 42 years, Raymond, her father, Elmer, and brother, Bubby. Her funeral service is 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 16 at the McMichael-Rairigh & Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd St., Berwick. Pastor Jessica Maske of Faith United Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nescopeck will serve as the officiant. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9-11 AM the day of the service. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
