Berwick

Eric James Andrews Vandermark, 30, passed away unexpectedly on August 16, 2024.  Born on April 28, 1994, in Bloomsburg, he was the beloved son of James Andrews and Lexie (Vandermark)Andrews.

Eric graduated from Central Columbia School District in 2014 and dedicated his career to caring for others as a Medical Technician at Brookdale Senior Living.

Known for his unwavering honesty and trademark smile, Eric’s character left an indelible mark on all who knew him.  His zest for life was evident in his deep love for music and his passion for football.  As an enthusiastic player for The Great Eastern Football Association team, the Benton Maniacs, Eric formed lasting friendships and created cherished memories on the field.

Eric’s story, however, is inseparable from that of his soulmate Kelsey Rose (Palesky) Andrews.  Their love story began in 9thgrade, blossoming into a relationship that exemplified devotion and companionship.  Through unending patience and kindness, Eric and Kelsey became a beacon of true love in their community, inspiring both young and old with their enduring bond.

Eric and Kelsey’s high school romance flourished into a beautiful family.  They welcomed their eldest child, Peyton (13), followed by Cole (9), and Neveah (4).  Eric often said that his children were the greatest parts of him, a testament to the depth of his love for them.

As a devoted father, Eric never missed a game or practice, proudly cheering on Peyton at youth football games for the Berwick Bulldogs.  He would often remark that he was watching his legacy unfold before his eyes.  Even after long days, Eric always made time for adventures with Cole, whether it was playing video games or embarking on exciting Pokémon Go quests.  Each evening, Eric cherished his special role of snuggling with his little princess, Neveah.  To his children, Eric was more than a father – he was their guiding light and biggest supporter.

In addition to his wife, children, and parents, Eric leaves behind a cherished extended family.  He will be greatly missed by sisters:  Skilar Andrews and her husband, Julius, of Berwick and Courtney Andrews of Millville and paternal grandmother, Leona Price.  Eric’s loving presence as an uncle will be forever remembered by his nieces:  Lily Andrews, daughter of Skilar and Julius, and Jupiter Piestrak, daughter of Courtney.  Eric’s role as a brother and uncle was one he treasured deeply and the strong bonds he formed with his family will be a lasting part of his legacy.

Eric was preceded in death by his cherished grandparents:  paternal grandfather Gene Price, and maternal grandparents Allen Lee Vandermark and Vivian Irene Vandermark.  Their love and wisdom left an indelible mark on his life, shaping the caring and devoted person he became.
