Elizabeth ´Betty´ (Young) Deets

Elizabeth A. "Betty" Deets, 93, of Macungie and formerly of Nescopeck, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the Lehigh Center in Macungie. Born in Sheatown April 4, 1926, she was a daughter to the late Olaf and Elizabeth (Williams) Young. Betty was a graduate of Newport Township High School, Class of 1943. She was a longtime member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Nescopeck, where she had served on the Church Administrative Board and as a Trustee. She was also a member of the Berwick Chapter of the AARP in which she had served on the Board of Directors and as Publicity Chairman. Surviving Betty are her children: Glenn Deets of Manheim, Gayle Cardoni of Allentown, and Bruce Deets, Jr. and wife, Jean, of Westminster, CO, grandchildren: Brian (Dawn) Deets, Melissa (Dan) Berryman, and Lia (Will) Pierce, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Bruce E. Deets, who passed February 6, 1997. She was also preceded by her sister, Carol Ralph.
