Elaine (Fox) Kepner

Elaine Marie Kepner, 86, of Berwick, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at the Berwick Retirement Village II. Born in Berwick on December 17, 1933, she was a daughter to the late Irvin J. and Cleo (Carey) Fox. Elaine was a graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1951. She worked in the office at Wise Foods until marrying and choosing her lifelong profession as a wife and mother. She will be remembered as the backbone of the family and the "woman behind the man" to her active husband, Neil. She had a quiet and gentle nature, a wicked sense of humor, and played a mean game of cards and bingo. Later in life, Elaine worked at the Berwick K-Mart. Elaine will be remembered by her daughters: Jody Klinger, Polly Shearer and husband, Ernie, Gretchen Hess and husband, Chuck, and Jennifer Billig and husband, Greg, all of Berwick, grandchildren: Jessica Mutchler, Patrick Shearer, Caitlyn Halaquist , Corey Klinger, Jeremy Hess, Maddie Hess, Alex Hess, Rheanon Billig, and Chase Billig, 11 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Neil R. Kepner. Also preceding her were siblings: Lois Fisher and Dale Fox. She was the last member of her immediate family. Her daughters would like to thank the staff at the Berwick Retirement Village for their kindness in caring for their mother during her last days while they were unable to visit. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider a donation to a local charity of your choice. Because of pandemic restrictions, Elaine's services are private.
