Earl "Dee" Trivelpiece, 81 of Berwick, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born November 26, 1932 in Berwick, a son to the late Clyde and Mildred (Kemler) Trivelpiece. Dee was a graduate of Berwick High School Class of 1951. He served in the Army from 1953 until 1955. In 1956 he became a barber and continued to cut hair until 2013. He was a member of the Berwick Christian Church and also attended the St. Cyril & Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church. Dee was considered one of the top Men's Fast-Pitch Softball pitchers in the area, winning over 600 games and managing most of the teams he played for including ones sponsored by Bill Johnson Chevrolet, the Ranger Hose Company, of which he also was a member, and the First National Bank of Berwick. He also was a standout basketball player. Hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren were among the favorite things he enjoyed. Surviving Dee are his son, Vincent and his wife, Mary Ann of Sugarloaf, daughter, Valerie Trivelpiece-Crovak of Smithfield, Virginia, 4 grandchildren: Aislinn, Maria, Megan and Marissa, sister, Marie Beilharz of Montoursville, and companion, Nancy Allen of Lock Haven. Preceding Dee in death were his loving wife of 50 years, the former Ann Lozak, a son, Eric, and brothers, Richard and Bob. His funeral service is 11:00 AM Thursday, March 27 at the McMichael-Rairigh & Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd Street, Berwick. Pastor John Seniw will serve as the officiant. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until time of the service. Burial will follow at the St Cyril & Methodius Cemetery.
